In order for a corps to operate, they require a civilian partnership called a Branch. Local branches of the Navy League of Canada are the proud sponsors of both cadet programs. Consisting of volunteer civilians and parents, members of the branch are elected every year during the Annual General Body meeting. All are welcome to join the branch and participate in the operation of both organizations in areas such as fundraising and auxiliary support. It is the Branch who coordinate parent volunteers to keep the cadets fed, clothed, and sheltered by means of fundraising, accounting, and community awareness.
